About Viattori

Behind the bench.

JJ founded Viattori at a single repair bench, on one idea: a fine watch deserves the same care it took to make it. He has spent seven years at that bench. The atelier now services and restores exceptional timepieces to the same standard.

Based in Oakville, serving clients across Canada through a tracked mail-in service, with in-person meetings arranged for clients in the Greater Toronto Area.

JJ, Founder

In-house service

Every service and restoration is performed in-house; nothing is sent out.

You approve first

We send a detailed estimate before any work begins, and a full report afterward of what we did and why.

Documented on arrival

Every watch is photographed and its serial number and condition recorded before any work begins, and the agreed value is confirmed in writing.

Questions

Watch repair questions, answered.

How is my watch looked after while it’s with you?

Its condition, serial number and photographs are recorded on arrival and the agreed value is confirmed in writing. Every step of the work happens in-house, and the watch goes back to you exactly as recorded.

What does an estimate cost?

Nothing. Assessment and estimates are free, and no work begins until you approve a detailed written estimate. If disassembly reveals additional necessary work, we stop and ask you first.

Is my watch worth the cost of repair?

Often the value of a watch is sentimental, and in rare cases a repair can cost as much as the watch is worth, or more. That decision is yours, never ours: no work begins without your approval, and both a first opinion by phone or message and a full assessment of the watch are free.

How long does a repair take?

Battery changes and small repairs are usually ready in one to two business days. A full mechanical service takes two to four weeks, and a full restoration can take longer when parts must be sourced or made. A good-faith completion date comes with every estimate.

How often should a watch be serviced?

Every five to seven years. Lubricants dry out and wear sets in long before a watch stops, so a service on that interval keeps a small problem from becoming an expensive one.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes. Our workmanship and the parts we install are covered by a six-month limited service warranty. Viattori’s own editions carry the same warranty from the day of delivery.

How does shipping work?

Most clients send their watch to us by mail, from anywhere in Canada, and our own editions ship Canada-wide too; clients in the GTA can also arrange to meet in person. Every shipment is tracked in both directions, with signature on delivery available on request. Pieces valued over $1,000 CAD are signature-required, no exceptions. We send packing instructions or a prepaid label, and our responsibility for your watch begins the moment we sign for it, or at drop-off when you ship with our label.
